Resistant Dextrin Syrup
Definition
This water-soluble dietary fiber liquid, made from glucose and sorbitol, is enzymatically polymerized, refined, and concentrated. It is a light yellow to colorless, clear liquid with a slightly sweet taste (approximately 10%-20% of sucrose sweetness) and no added sucrose, making it suitable for sugar-free and low-calorie food processing.
Functions
1. Intestinal Health: Promotes intestinal motility, increases stool bulk, improves constipation, and acts as a prebiotic.
2. Sugar and Lipid Control: Delays glucose absorption (GI ≈ 7), helps lower postprandial blood sugar, and reduces fat absorption.
3. Weight Management: Low in calories (approximately 1 kcal/g), provides a strong satiety effect, and reduces total calorie intake.
4. Processing Compatibility: Improves food consistency, stabilizes texture, and masks unpleasant flavors.
Uses
1. Beverages: Zero-sugar juices, plant-based protein drinks (increases fiber without affecting clarity);
2. Dairy products: Sugar-free yogurt, milk drinks (reduces whey precipitation and improves smoothness);
3. Condiments: Sugar-free jams, salad dressings (stabilizes consistency and balances flavor);
4. Health products: Low-calorie meal replacement shakes, sugar-control nutritional supplements (supplements dietary fiber).
Physical Properties
1. Miscible with water and liquid ingredients, no precipitation or separation;
2. Acid-resistant (stable at pH 2.5-8.0) and heat-resistant (no denaturation after sterilization at 120°C);
3. Mild flavor, reduces beany and medicinal notes;
4. Good internal tolerance with a daily intake of 50g, no significant gastrointestinal discomfort.
