Definition
This highly active, zero-sugar oligosaccharide is made from plant fibers such as corn cobs and sugarcane bagasse through enzymatic hydrolysis, precision purification, and drying. The active ingredient in xylo-oligosaccharides (2-7 xylose units linked byβ-(1,4) glycosidic bonds) is≥95% (dry basis). This fine white powder is easily soluble in water (approximately 65g/100mL at 25°C), slightly sweet, and non-astringent. It combines the functions of a highly active prebiotic and water-soluble dietary fiber, making it suitable for high-end sugar-free and low-calorie foods and those with special needs.
Functions
1. Highly specific, promotes the growth of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria (increasing their numbers by 100-fold), inhibits putrefactive bacteria, and effectively improves constipation and diarrhea.
2. Does not raise blood sugar (GI≈10), delays glucose absorption, and is suitable for those on a strict sugar control diet.
3. Low in calories (2 kcal/g), increases satiety and supports effective weight management.
4. Prevents tooth decay, promotes calcium absorption (increases absorption by 30%), and enhances nutrient utilization.
