Definition
This zero-added-sugar functional oligosaccharide is made from plant fibers such as corn cobs and sugarcane bagasse through enzymatic hydrolysis, refining, and drying. Its core is a mixture of 2-7 xylose units linked byβ-(1,4) glycosidic bonds (common active ingredient concentrations are 35%, 70%, and 95%). It is a fine white powder that is easily soluble in water and slightly sweet without astringency. It combines the functions of a prebiotic and a water-soluble dietary fiber, making it suitable for sugar-free and low-calorie diets.
Functions
1. Promotes the growth of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria in the intestines, inhibits putrefactive bacteria, and improves constipation and diarrhea.
2. Does not raise blood sugar (GI≈10) and delays glucose absorption, making it suitable for those on a sugar-control diet.
3. Low in calories (2 kcal/g), increases satiety and aids weight management.
4. Prevents tooth decay and promotes the absorption of minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
